Bruce Pottery is an importer of pottery imports which include pottery, garden pots, urns canisters and planters. We are located in Laredo, TX. If Bruce pottery does not have what you need, we will custom design whatever you need. We will deliver to you from a pickup to a trailer. We also have chimneys of all sizes. Our products are of the highest quality. We also have a large selection of talavera and wrought iron. The Talavera creation process involves the blending of two types of clay which are soaked in water to improve the consistency and malleability. When ready, the water is drained off the clay blend, and it is filtered to remove all impurities. The clay is worked until all air bubbles have been removed and the consistency is correct.
The artisans then produce a variety of pieces on the pottery’s wheel or in molds which are then left to dry for eight to twelve weeks. The dried clay pieces are then baked in an oven at over 800C. The fabrication process then continues by carefully dipping each piece of Majolica in a glaze which results in the rich foundation color. Then each piece is hand decorated using colors derived from processing various mineral pigments. The hand decorated pieces are fired a final time for many hours at over 1000C, resulting in the completed beautiful work of Mexican pottery. We are proudly located in Laredo, TX but we see customers from all over the state.
We have wrought iron pieces, Mexico imports and Pottery imports.
Talavera pottery is a type of majolica earthenware of a distinct creamy- white glazed decoration produced only in the State of Puebla in Mexico. These are some of the most saught after Mexico imports. Talavera Poblana is the oldest tin-glazed ceramic in America and it is still being manufactured with the same techniques as in the 16th Century. Mexican pottery and ceramic are well known around the world for their unique designs, vivid colors and fine artwork. Each piece of clay and ceramic is hand made, handcrafted and hand painted using ancient techniques and traditional methods.
Our Mexican wall hanging decorations will add life to your patio
or halls, such as Sun-and-Moon sets mottled in different color
combinations, Eclipses, African Masks and Calla Lily Masks. Our
plaques of Frida Kahlo and the sacred figure of the Kokopelli of
the Southwest will add a touch of Mexican history to your home
Our collection of Mexican fine art includes hand-made clay Animal Figures and Jewelry Boxes, beautifully painted by hand. If you are looking for Mexican folk art or collectibles, see our multipurpose Knick Knack Boxes, Tequila Shot Glasses, and Crosses. Each clay piece has been fired at high temperatures, hand painted and decorated with traditional Mexican images.
Authentic Talavera pottery is the ceramic ware produced by certified workshops in the state of Puebla Mexico following the traditional Talavera process introduced by the Spaniards in the 16th Century.
This gallery showcases only the best in handmade authentic Talavera Pottery, certified by the official Consejo Regulador de la Talavera, Regulating Council of Talavera.
